METER AND GAUGES — Tachometer, Temp., Oil and Fuel Gauges / Wiring Diagram
EL-85wiring diagramN·CVT version passes the tach signal through the CVT controller — a quirk that means a dead tachometer on N·CVT cars can be either the ECCS, the CVT controller or the wire between them. Speed-sensor signal stays on pin 11 regardless of transmission.
NOTE
Variant markers on this page:
• M/T = Manual transaxle models (tach signal direct from ECCS)
• N·CVT = N·CVT models (tach signal via N·CVT control unit)
Water-temp + fuel gauges are conventional variable-resistor types; tachometer is fed by the ECCS control unit. Speed sensor is built into the meter (electronic, no cable drive).
