HORN, CIGARETTE LIGHTER AND CLOCK — Horn / Horn Switch / Cigarette Lighter / Clock — Replacement
EL-113prose procedureUnverifiedCigarette-lighter section verbatim spelling 'seperate' (sic — should be 'separate'). Twin-horn cars have a 5.5 mm pitch-adjust bolt on the rear of each horn for fine tuning the high/low note.
Horn — Replacement
- 1Remove fixing bolt (13 mm).
UEL176 - 2Disconnect connector from horn.
- 3Refit new horn in reverse order to removal procedure and test operation.
NOTE
• For vehicles containing two horns (high note and low note) ensure correct horn is replaced. Pitch can be changed using adjusting bolt (5.5 mm) in back of horn.
Horn Switch — Replacement
- 1Pull horn pad from steering wheel.
UEL177 - 2Disconnect connectors from switch at back of horn pad.
- 3Replace horn pad by press fitting to steering wheel and test operation.
Cigarette Lighter — Replacement
- 1Remove instrument centre console front fascia (Refer to BF Section).
- 2Prise defective case from fascia.
UEL178 - 3Push fit replacement lighter assembly into instrument panel, the case is retained in place by plastic clips of ring.
- 4Test operation.
NOTE
• The cigarette lighter knob and case assembly may be replaced as seperate items.
• The lighter illumination bulb is not replaceable, unit must be changed.
Clock
NOTE
• The clock is an integral part of the tachometer or coolant temperature gauge refer to "Meter and Gauges" section for details of replacement.
