HEADLAMP — Removal & Installation (Base K11)
EL-55prose procedureBase K11 HEADLAMP removal+installation (UEL050). 8-step removal (grille off via BF section, wiper arm if fitted, 2 nuts + upper/lower fixing screws, connectors). All fasteners 4.4-6.5 N·m. Re-aim after install. Cautions: don't pull harness, no organic solvents on housing.
Removal
Headlamp removal
- 1Remove battery negative earth cable from battery.
- 2Remove headlamp wiper arm (where fitted).
- 3Remove body front grille by releasing square-head fixing studs (2 off) and prising grille from body fasteners (see BF section for details).
- 4Remove lower fixing screw.
- 5Remove lower and upper retaining nuts.
- 6Remove upper fixing screw.
- 7Remove electrical connectors from back of headlamp.
- 8Remove headlamp.
Installation
Headlamp installation
- 1Align headlamp with mountings and locate fixing grommet to position.
- 2Installation is the reverse process to removal, ensure fixing screws and nuts are fitted in the reverse order to removal and tightened to the specified torque figures.
- 3Check headlamp aiming is within specifications and adjust if necessary (see headlamp aiming procedure).
CAUTION
• Ensure all bulb sockets and wiring are fully secured to the lamp housing and all connectors are securely locked into position.
• Do not pull on harness wire to move lamp.
• Do not use organic solvents on the lamp housing.
NOTE
Headlamp R&R. Access requires removing the front grille (BF section) and the headlamp wiper arm if fitted. All fasteners (2 nuts + upper/lower fixing screws) torque to 4.4-6.5 N·m. Re-check and adjust aim after install. Cautions: never tug the harness to reposition the lamp, and no organic solvents on the polycarbonate housing (crazing risk).
