SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS ITEM CHART
ECM INT CIRC-IMMU
P NO. code (self-diag of ENGINE)NATS MALFUNCTION P1613
Malfunction is detected when...The malfunction of ECM internal circuit of IMMU communication line is detected.
Reference pageEL-7065
CHAIN OF EC-IMMU
P NO. code (self-diag of ENGINE)NATS MALFUNCTION P1612
Malfunction is detected when...Communication impossible between ECM and IMMU. (In rare case, 'CHAIN OF ECM-IMMU' might be stored during key registration procedure, even if the system is not malfunctioning.)
Reference pageEL-7066
DIFFERENCE OF KEY
P NO. code (self-diag of ENGINE)NATS MALFUNCTION P1615
Malfunction is detected when...IMMU can receive the key ID signal but the result of ID verification between key ID and IMMU is NG.
Reference pageEL-7068
CHAIN OF IMMU-KEY
P NO. code (self-diag of ENGINE)NATS MALFUNCTION P1614
Malfunction is detected when...IMMU cannot receive the key ID signal.
Reference pageEL-7069
ID DISCORD, IMM-ECM
P NO. code (self-diag of ENGINE)NATS MALFUNCTION P1611
Malfunction is detected when...The result of ID verification between IMMU and ECM is NG. System initialization is required.
Reference pageEL-7070
DON'T ERASE BEFORE CHECKING ENG DIAG
P NO. code (self-diag of ENGINE)—
Malfunction is detected when...Engine trouble data and NATS trouble data have been detected in ECM.
Reference pageEL-7072
LOCK MODE
P NO. code (self-diag of ENGINE)NATS MALFUNCTION P1610
Malfunction is detected when...When the starting operation is carried out 5 or more items consecutively under the following conditions, NATS will shift the mode to one which prevents the engine from being started.
• unregistered ignition key is used
• IMMU or ECM malfunctioning

NOTE
Seven NATS-specific DTCs in Supplement-VII (P1610-P1615 + the unnumbered 'DON'T ERASE' note). DTC numbers align with later Nissan ECM ranges (1610s = NATS series).
'LOCK MODE' is the worst-case shutdown — after 5+ consecutive failed starts, NATS goes into hard lockout. Recovery requires CONSULT-II initialization with a registered key.
WARNING
Diagnostic priority order (in case of multiple DTCs): CHAIN OF EC-IMMU first (communication broken — fix wiring), then DIFFERENCE OF KEY (key transponder fault), then ID DISCORD (re-init required). LOCK MODE is symptomatic, not the root cause — clear the upstream DTCs first.
