WIPERS AND WASHERS — Rear Wiper Arm — Removal / Installation
EL-107prose procedureRear wiper arm nut torque (15-18 N·m) is much higher than the front (3.8-5.1 N·m) because the rear arm is single-spline-engaged. ±15 mm tolerance keeps the blade clear of the screen-finisher edge.
Rear Wiper Arm — Removal
- 1Ensure the wiper arm is in the park position by switching wiper on and off.
- 2Remove battery negative cable from battery.
- 3Lift wiper arm nut cover and remove wiper arm nut.
UEL090 - 4Prise wiper arm off drive pivot splines.
- 5Clean drive pivot splines with a stiff brush to reduce possibility of wiper arm looseness.

Rear Wiper Arm — Installation
- 1Prior to installation, ensure the wiper arm pivot is in the park position by switching wiper on and off.
- 2Remove battery negative cable from battery.
- 3Ensure drive pivot splines are clean.
- 4Lift the blade up and set it down onto glass to set the blade center to position before tightening the wiper arm nut.
UEL092 - 5Eject washer fluid and turn on wiper switch to operate wiper motor.
NOTE
• Ensure that wiper blade stops in location identified by the demister element.
• Ensure wiper operates smoothly at all speeds.
• Ensure wiper does not contact screen finisher.
• Ensure all fluid is removed from the screen in one sweep of the wiper.
