- 5Check depth of insulating mica from commutator surface. Less than 0.3 mm (0.012 in) ... Replace.
Bearing Check
NOTE
Renew bearing bushes if there is:
• evidence of armature fouling magnets.
• perceptible side play between bush and shaft.
Bearing Check
- 1Press worn out bushes from the Front and Intermediate brackets using lever/hand operated press and suitable mandrels.
NOTE
• Soak new bushes in engine oil for 30 minutes before press fitting into position using a suitable press and mandrel.
Pinion Shaft Trust Gap Check
NOTE
Check movement "ℓ" of pinion when it is pushed forward until it touches front bracket stopper.
Movement "ℓ": Refer to S.D.S.
If movement "ℓ" is not within specified range ... Adjust gap.
