EXTERIOR LAMPS — Front Fog Lamp — Aiming Adjustment

Driver-seat weight loading is part of the spec — aim drops if technician aims with empty seat. Cover other lights during adjustment to avoid contaminating beam pattern.

Aiming Adjustment

  1. 1
    Set the distance between the screen and the center of the fog lamp lens as shown at left.
    Aiming setup: vehicle parked 7.6 m (25 ft) from a screen; the screen is the target. Main axis of light shown horizontally.

    Remove front fog lamp rim. For detail, refer to "BODY END" in BT section.

    Turn front fog lamps ON.

    Adjust front fog lamps so that the top edge of the high intensity zone is 81 to 130 mm (3.19 to 5.12 in) below the height of the fog lamp centers as shown at left.
    1. When performing adjustment, if necessary, cover the headlamps and opposite fog lamp.
    Aim pattern: shows top edge of high-intensity zone, vertical centerlines ahead of left and right fog lamps, floor-to-center of fog-lamp lens height, with high-intensity areas around each centerline. Dimension star-1 (★1) labelled 81-130 mm (3.19-5.12 in) — drop of top-edge of high-intensity zone below fog-lamp-center height.
