INTERIOR LAMPS — Illumination / Wiring Diagram — L.H.D. Model Without Daytime Running Lamps
EL-79wiring diagramAll dash illumination shares one R/L bus — common failure mode is the lighting switch's pin 12 (TAIL) which kills the whole dash illumination at once. On non-IC cars there is no rheostat — the switch is a straight pass-through.
L.H.D. Model — Without Daytime Running Lamps
NOTE
Variant markers on this page:
• IC = Models equipped with illumination control (rheostat dimmer)
• WIC = Models without illumination control
When IC is fitted, the rheostat drops the bus voltage to dim the night-illumination of dash switches and the instrument cluster. Without IC the bus is connected straight to W/B from the lighting switch and runs full-brightness.
