Removal
- 1Remove battery negative cable from battery.
- 2Remove air cleaner unit from top of engine.
- 3Remove upper starter motor mounting bolt (14 mm).
- 4From beneath car remove manifold support bracket.

- 6Disconnect harness connector from starter motor harness.
- 7Remove lower starter motor mounting bolt.
- 8Remove starter motor.
Installation
• Installation procedure is the reverse order of the removal procedure.

WARNING
Bosch part numbers: 0 001 116 008 / 009 for standard (non-reduction); 0 001 107 092 / 093 for cold spec (with reduction gear). The 'Reduction' models draw notably more current (less than 75A vs less than 48A) and turn slower at no-load (more than 2700 rpm vs more than 5800 rpm) because the reduction gearing trades speed for torque.
