POWER SUPPLY PROTECTION — Fusible Links (Base K11)
EL-6prose procedureBase K11 fusible links. Colour-amperage: BROWN=25A (ECCS/PW/fan), GREEN=30A (ABS/ign), BLACK=65A (alt-batt). Box in front of battery. Melted link = downstream short, fix first.
Fusible Links
A melted fusible link can be detected by visual inspection. If its condition is questionable, use circuit tester or test lamp.
CAUTION
a. If fusible link should melt, it is possible that critical circuit (power supply or large current carrying circuit) is shorted. In such a case, carefully check and eliminate cause of problem.
b. Never wrap periphery of fusible link with vinyl tape. Extreme care should be taken with this link to ensure that it does not come into contact with any other wiring harness or vinyl or rubber parts.
LOCATION
• Fusible link box is mounted in front of the battery in the engine compartment.
• To remove cover, lift securing clips and pull off.

NOTE
Base K11 fusible-link colour-code:
• BROWN = 25A (ECCS / power windows + door locks / radiator cooling fan)
• GREEN = 30A (ABS actuator / ABS motor / ignition switch supply)
• BLACK = 65A (alternator-to-battery main)
Fusible-link box layout (UEL014) shows the full fuse+FL grid with named circuits. Never wrap a fusible link with vinyl tape — it must dissipate heat freely.
WARNING
A melted fusible link means a downstream SHORT, not just an overload. Find and fix the short before replacing the link, or the new one will melt too.
