Starter Motor
There are four basic models of starter motor, dependent on market application, engine size and N·CVT or manual transmission:

CAUTION
• Ensure correct starter motor is used when replacing.
• Note that manual and N·CVT starter motors have different front brackets and fixings and cannot be interchanged.
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
Removal — Manual Transmission
Starter removal — M/T
- 1Remove battery negative cable from battery.
- 2Remove battery cable from starter motor.
- 3Disconnect harness connector from starter motor harness.
- 4Remove starter motor mounting bolts.
- 5Remove starter motor.
NOTE
Four starter variants by market/engine/transmission. 0.9 kW is standard for CG10DE/CG13DE on both M/T and CVT; a 1.1 kW unit is market-specific for CG13DE M/T. CRITICAL: M/T and CVT starters have different front brackets/fixings — not interchangeable. Removal procedure for CVT is on the following page.
