Starter Motor (Cont'd)

Removal - N·CVT Transmission

Remove battery negative cable from battery.

Remove air cleaner unit from top of engine.

Remove upper starter motor mounting bolt (14 mm).

From beneath car remove manifold support bracket.

Remove battery cable from starter motor.

Disconnect harness connector from starter motor harness.

Remove lower starter motor mounting bolt.
8
Remove starter motor.

INSTALLATION

NOTE

• Installation procedure is the reverse order of the removal procedure.

Solenoid Check

NOTE

• Before starting to check, disconnect battery ground cable. • Disconnect "M" terminal of starter motor.

Solenoid Check

Continuity test (between "M" terminal and switch body). No continuity ... Replace.

Insulation tests (between "B" and "M" terminals, and "B" terminal and solenoid body). Continuity exists ... Replace.
3
Continuity test between "S" terminal and switch body. No continuity ... Replace.
