Wiper Motor and Linkage Assembly (Cont'd)

    After mounting motor and linkage, operate wipers and stop in auto-stop position, then fit wiper arm as described in "Wiper arm replacement".
  2. 4
    Operate wipers and ensure that wipers return to correct park position and that assembly operates normally at all wiper switch positions without judder.

Front Wiper Motor Amplifier

Location

The Front Wiper motor amplifier is located in the engine bay, bolted to the vehicle body close to the wiper motor.

Wiper Amplifier Check

  1. 1
    Connect amplifier as shown.
    Wiper amplifier check test setup. Amplifier connector shown with a 7-6-5 / 3-2-1 pin layout and a 1-2-3 / 5-6-7 pin layout, connected to a 12V battery and a test lamp. Terminal 6 is the test point.

    If test lamp comes on when connected to terminal 6 and battery ground, wiper amplifier is normal.
    If wiper amplifier is faulty, replace unit; the module is non-serviceable.
