NOTE
Higher-trim defogger wiring with TIMER module. Combined into the switch assembly: TIMER, START button, DEFOGGER 'ON' INDICATOR LED, ILLUMINATION SWITCH lamp.
Pressing the START button arms the TIMER, which then closes the REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER RELAY M81 contact for a fixed time (~15 minutes typically) before auto-shutting off. The 'ON' indicator on the switch shows whether the defogger is currently energised.
CIRCUIT BREAKER M42 sits between battery and relay coil — thermal auto-reset protection.
The CENTRAL DOOR LOCK CONTROL UNIT shares signal lines (W/R, G/B, L/R, R/L) with the defogger timer — Supplement-VII integrates body-electronic timers in a shared CU.
WARNING
Timer-variant fault: if defogger turns on but never auto-shuts off, the TIMER module inside the switch is stuck. If defogger turns on and immediately shuts off, the START contact is bouncing or the indicator LED is shorted. The integrated module is a single sub-assembly — replace switch.
