WIPERS AND WASHERS — Rear Wiper Motor — Removal / Installation / Rear Wiper Amplifier

Rear Wiper Motor — Removal
- 1Before removing ensure motor is in the park position by switching wipers on and off.
- 2Remove battery negative cable from battery.
- 3Lift wiper-arm nut cover and remove nut.
- 4Prise off wiper arm from drive pivot spline.
- 5Remove nuts holding motor to back door.
UEL093 - 6Disconnect connector and remove motor.
NOTE
• Replace wiper motor complete.
Rear Wiper Motor — Installation
NOTE
Wiper motor installation is basically the inverse process of removal, but utilising the following salient points:
- 1Fit motor to back door so that the drive shaft protrudes through wiper aperture, and fix but do not tighten bolt ①.
- 2Fit and tighten bolts ② and ③ to the torque indicated, followed by bolt ①.
- 3Fit wiper arm as directed in previous procedure, ensuring all operational checks are satisfactory.
REAR WIPER AMPLIFIER

NOTE
The Rear Wiper amplifier is located behind the front dash panel to the left of the steering column on LHD vehicles, and to the right of the steering column on RHD vehicles.
Rear Wiper Amplifier Check
- 1Connect as shown in test circuit.
UEL094 - 2If test lamp comes on when connected to terminal ① and battery ground, wiper amplifier is normal.
