Diagnostic Procedure 14 — Engine stalls during deceleration
EF & EC-97flowchartIdle speed specs differ by transmission/market: M/T 650±50 rpm, N.CVT 750±50 rpm, M/T+L.S.D. 750±50 rpm, M/T (North Europe) 750±50 rpm, M/T+L.S.D./D.T.R.L. (North Europe) 850±50 rpm. CONSULT and non-CONSULT (with/without) procedures both given.
TROUBLE DIAGNOSES
Diagnostic Procedure 14 — Engine stalls during deceleration
1
CHECK AAC VALVE. With CONSULT: Start engine. Conduct "A.A.C. VALVE" test with "FUNCTION TEST" showing on display. Check to ensure control duty ratio is in the 80 - 20% range and engine speed changes at least 150 rpm or proceed as follows: Start engine. Select "A.A.C. Valve Position" with "ACTIVE TEST" showing on display. Touch "Qu" and "Qd" to ensure engine speed changes with A.A.C. valve position (in percentage). Without CONSULT: Start engine. Check to ensure engine speed decreases when A.A.C. valve connector is removed.
N.G.
Check A.A.C. valve and circuit. Refer to "A.A.C. Valve" (See page EF&EC-158.)
O.K.
2
CHECK IDLE ADJUSTMENT SCREW FOR SEIZURE. With CONSULT: Start engine. Adjust ignition timing with "WORK SUPPORT" showing on display. Check to ensure engine is set to specified idle speed using idle adjustment screw. Idle speed: M/T: 650 ± 50 rpm; N.CVT: 750 ± 50 rpm; M/T + L.S.D.: 750 ± 50 rpm; M/T (for North Europe): 750 ± 50 rpm; M/T + L.S.D. (for North Europe): 850 ± 50 rpm. Without CONSULT: Start engine. Disconnect throttle sensor. Check to ensure engine is set to specified idle speed using idle adjustment screw. Idle speed: M/T: 650 ± 50 rpm; N.CVT: 750 ± 50 rpm; M/T + D.T.R.L.: 750 ± 50 rpm; M/T (North Europe): 750 ± 50 rpm; M/T (North Europe) + D.T.R.L.: 850 ± 50 rpm.
N.G.
Check A.A.C. valve and throttle valve for seizure.
O.K.
