DTC P0335 Malfunction Detection / Possible Causes
P0335
Malfunction is detected when ...- The crankshaft position sensor signal is not in the normal pattern during engine running.
- The crankshaft position sensor signal is not sent to ECM during the first few seconds of engine cranking.
- The proper pulse signal from the crankshaft position sensor is not sent to ECM while the engine is running.
Check Items (Possible Cause)- Harness or connectors (The crankshaft position sensor circuit is open.)

DTC Confirmation Procedure
NOTE
If "DTC Confirmation Procedure" has been previously conducted, always turn ignition switch "OFF" and wait at least 1 seconds before conducting the next test.
With CONSULT-II
DTC Confirmation Procedure (With CONSULT-II)
- 1Turn ignition switch "ON" and select "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT-II.
SEF058Y - 2Start engine and run it for at least 2 seconds at idle speed.
- 3Keep engine speed at about 2,000 rpm for at least 2 seconds.
- 4If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to "Diagnostic Procedure", EC-7178.
With GST
DTC Confirmation Procedure (With GST)
- 1Start engine and run it for at least 2 seconds at idle speed.
- 2Keep engine speed at about 2,000 rpm for at least 2 seconds.
- 3Select "MODE 7" with GST.
- 4If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to "Diagnostic Procedure", EC-7178.
