Check engine temperature sensor. [With CONSULT] Conduct self-diagnosis and "Real-Time Diagnosis" with "DATA MONITOR" showing on display. (Refer to CONSULT). [Without CONSULT] Conduct self-diagnosis mode II. (Refer to "Self-Diagnosis".)

Check engine temperature sensor and circuit. Refer to "Engine Temperature Sensor". (See page EF&EC-137).

Check injectors. Stop engine. Remove distributor. (Do not remove crank angle sensor harness connector.) Remove power transistor connector. Turn ignition switch to "ON". Check to ensure each injector emits hissing sound when crankshaft is hand-rotated. Display shows an erratic indication during self-diagnosis and does not show abnormalities.

Check injectors and circuits. Refer to "Injector". (See page EF&EC-153).

Check spark gaps. Turn ignition switch "OFF". Remove spark plugs. Install new or good spark plugs. While moving rear end of each spark plug close to grounding point, crank engine. Check for sparks.
