THROTTLE SENSOR (Code No. 43) - Diagnostic Procedure 27

1
INSPECTION START
2
CHECK POWER SUPPLY. 1) Disconnect throttle sensor harness connector. 2) Turn ignition switch "ON". 3) Check voltage between throttle valve sensor terminal (a) and ground. Voltage: Approximately 5V
N.G.
Repair harness or connectors.
O.K.
3
CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT. 1) Turn ignition switch "OFF". 2) Check harness continuity between throttle valve sensor terminal (c) and engine ground. Continuity should exist.
N.G.
same as step 2
O.K.
4
CHECK INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT. 1) Reconnect throttle sensor harness connector. 2) Turn ignition switch "ON". 3) Perform "THROTTLE SENSOR CKT" in "FUNCTION TEST" mode with CONSULT. OR 3) Read throttle sensor output voltage in "WORK SUPPORT" mode with CONSULT. Throttle valve fully closed: 0.45 - 0.55V. Throttle valve fully open: Approx. 4.0V. OR 1) Disconnect E.C.U. harness connector. 2) Check harness continuity between E.C.U. terminal (20) and throttle valve sensor terminal (b). Continuity should exist.
N.G.
same as step 2
O.K.
5
CHECK COMPONENT (Throttle sensor). Refer to "Electrical Components Inspection". (See page EF&EC-171 - 180)
N.G.
Replace throttle sensor.
O.K.
Check E.C.U. pin terminals for damage or poor connection of E.C.U. harness connector.
