CHECK VOLTAGE BETWEEN E.C.U. AND GROUND.
1) Check voltage between E.C.U. terminal 46 and ground.
Voltage: Battery voltage

• Harness connectors F21, M17
• Harness connectors M59, E55 (L.H.D. models)
• Harness connectors M3, E1 (R.H.D. models)
• 10A fuse (fuselink box)
• Harness continuity between E.C.U. and battery
If N.G., repair harness or connectors.

CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT.
1) Check harness continuity between E.C.U. terminals 39, 48 and engine ground.
Continuity should exist.

Repair harness or connectors.

CHECK OUTPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT.
1) Check harness continuity between E.C.U. terminal 4 and E.C.C.S. relay terminal 2.
Continuity should exist.

CHECK INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT.
1) Turn ignition switch "ON".
2) Check voltage between E.C.U. terminal 36 and ground.
Voltage: Battery voltage

• Harness continuity between E.C.U. and ignition switch
If N.G., repair harness or connectors.

CHECK COMPONENT (E.C.C.S. relay). Refer to "Electrical Components Inspection". (See page EF&EC-171 - 180)
