DTC Confirmation Procedure

CAUTION

Always drive vehicle at a safe speed.

Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to "Diagnostic Procedure", EC-7137.

Turn ignition switch "OFF" and wait at least 1 second.

Turn ignition switch "ON" and select "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT-II.

Let it idle for at least 3 minutes.

If DTC is detected, go to "Diagnostic Procedure", EC-7137.

Use this procedure to check the overall function of the heated oxygen sensor circuit. During this check, a 1st trip DTC might not be confirmed.

Start engine and warm up engine to normal operating temperature.

Stop engine and wait at least 1 second.

Set voltmeter probes between ECM terminals 39 and ground.

Restart engine and check the voltage when revving engine up to 4,000 rpm under no load at least 10 times. (Depress and release accelerator pedal as soon as possible.) The voltage should be below 0.56V at least once during this procedure.

If NG, go to "Diagnostic Procedure", EC-7137.
