Diagnostic Procedure 11 — Engine stalls when hot

Check for vapors. • Remove pressure regulator vacuum hose. • Plug open end of vacuum hose. • Conduct test-run. • Check to ensure engine no longer hesitates.

Conduct power balance test. • Start engine. • Conduct "POWER BALANCE" test with "ACTIVE TEST" showing on display. Test must be finished as quickly as possible. Do not conduct test while vehicle is being driven. • Check to ensure idle speed momentarily decreases while testing each cylinder. • Start engine. • Check to ensure idle speed momentarily decreases when each injector connector is removed from cylinder.
