INSPECTION START

CHECK OVERALL FUNCTION. 1) Jack up drive wheels. 2) Disconnect E.C.U. harness connector. 3) Rotate drive wheel by hand. 4) Check harness continuity between E.C.U. terminal (32) and body ground. Continuity should come and go.

CHECK SPEEDOMETER FUNCTION. Make sure that speedometer functions properly.

Check vehicle speed sensor and circuit. (Refer to EL section.)

CHECK INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT. 1) Reconnect E.C.U. harness connector. 2) Perform "CAR SPEED SEN CIRCUIT" in "FUNCTION TEST" mode with CONSULT. OR 2) Read vehicle speed sensor signal in "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT. CONSULT value should be the same as the speedometer indication. OR 1) Turn ignition switch "OFF". 2) Disconnect combination meter 12-pin harness connector. 3) Check harness continuity between E.C.U. terminal (32) and combination meter terminal (f). Continuity should exist.

Check E.C.U. pin terminals for damage or poor connection of E.C.U. harness connector.
