Diagnostic Procedure 10 — Engine Stalls while operating

CHECK FUEL LEVEL.
Check to see that there is enough fuel in tank.
N.G.
Fill fuel tank with fuel.
O.K.

Conduct power balance test.
• Start engine.
• Conduct "POWER BALANCE" test with "ACTIVE TEST" showing on display. Test must be finished as quickly as possible. Do not conduct test while vehicle is being driven.
• Check to ensure idle speed momentarily decreases while testing each cylinder.
• Start engine.
• Check to ensure idle speed momentarily decreases when each injector connector is removed from cylinder.

Check injectors.
• Stop engine.
• Remove distributor. (Do not remove crank angle sensor harness connector.)
• Remove power transistor connector.
• Turn ignition switch to "ON".
• Check to ensure each injector emits hissing sound when crankshaft is hand-rotated. Display shows an erratic indication during self-diagnosis and does not show abnormalities.
