On Board Diagnosis Logic
To judge the malfunction, the output from the heated oxygen sensor 1 (front) is monitored to determine whether the the output voltage is inordenately high.
DTC Confirmation Procedure
NOTE
If "DTC Confirmation Procedure" has been previously conducted, always turn ignition switch "OFF" and wait at least 1 second before conducting the next test.
With CONSULT-II
- 1Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to "Diagnostic Procedure", EC-7113.
- 2Stop engine and wait at least 9 seconds.
- 3Turn ignition switch "ON" and select "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT-II.
- 4Start engine and let it idle for at least 3 minutes.
- 5If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to "Diagnostic Procedure", EC-7113.
Overall Function Check
Use this procedure to check the overall function of the heated oxygen sensor 1 (front) circuit. During this check, a 1st trip DTC might not be confirmed.
With GST
- 1Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
- 2Set voltmeter probes between ECM terminal 12 and ground.
- 3Check the following with engine speed held at 2,000 rpm constant under no load. - The voltage fluctuates between 0 to 0.3V and 0.6 to 1.0V more than three times within 10 seconds.
