CAUTION
Never start engine while removing air cleaner.
THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
With CONSULT-II
- 1Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
- 2Stop engine (ignition switch OFF) and wait at least 1 second.
- 3Turn ignition switch ON.
- 4Select "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT-II.
- 5Check voltage of "THRTL POS SEN" under the following conditions.
NOTE
Voltage measurement must be made with throttle position sensor installed in vehicle.
TPS Voltage — With CONSULT-II
Completely closed
Voltage (V)0.20 - 0.81 (a)
Partially open
Voltage (V)Between (a) and (b)
Completely open
Voltage (V)4.10 - 4.60 (b)
If NG, replace throttle position sensor.
Without CONSULT-II
- 1Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
- 2Stop engine (ignition switch OFF) and wait at least 1 second.
- 3Turn ignition switch ON.
- 4Check voltage between ECM terminal 73 (Throttle position sensor signal) and ground under the following conditions.
NOTE
Voltage measurement must be made with throttle position sensor installed in vehicle.
TPS Voltage — Without CONSULT-II
Completely closed
Voltage (V)0.20 - 0.81 (a)
Partially open
Voltage (V)Between (a) and (b)
Completely open
Voltage (V)4.10 - 4.80 (b)
If NG, replace throttle position sensor.
