TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS FOR POWER SUPPLY; Main Power Supply and Ground Circuit (Cont'd); Diagnostic Procedure Steps 11-15
EF & EC-7075prose procedureMain Power Supply and Ground Circuit (Cont'd)
CG10, CGA3
Step 11 — CHECK OUTPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT
- 1Check harness continuity between ECM terminal 27 and relay terminal 2. Refer to wiring diagram. Continuity should exist.
- 2Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.
- 3OK or NG: - OK → GO TO 13. - NG → GO TO 12.
Step 12 — DETECT MALFUNCTIONING PART
- 1Check the following: - Harness connectors F32, E67 - Harness for open or short between ECM relay and ECM
- 2→ Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
Step 13 — CHECK ECM RELAY
- 1Apply 12V direct current between relay terminals 1 and 2.
- 2Check continuity between relay terminals 3 and 5, 6 and 7. (See SEF497Y)
- 3Expected: - 12V (1 - 2) applied: Continuity exists. - No voltage applied: No continuity.
- 4OK or NG: - OK → GO TO 14. - NG → Replace ECM relay.
Step 14 — CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT
- 1Turn ignition switch "OFF".
- 2Disconnect ECM harness connector.
- 3Check harness continuity between ECM terminals 6, 28, 34, 55 and engine ground. Refer to wiring diagram. Continuity should exist.
- 4Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.
- 5OK or NG: - OK → GO TO 15. - NG → Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
Step 15 — CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT
- 1Perform "TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS FOR INTERMITTENT INCIDENT", EC-7070.
- 2→ INSPECTION END.
