Check exhaust gas sensor. Warm up engine. Check to ensure engine operation ("hunting") changes when exhaust gas sensor connector is removed.

Check exhaust gas sensor. Refer to "Exhaust Gas Sensor" (See page EF&EC-150).

Conduct power balance test. Start engine. Conduct "POWER BALANCE" test with "ACTIVE TEST" showing on display. Test must be finished as quickly as possible. Do not conduct test while vehicle is being driven. Check to ensure idle speed momentarily decreases while testing each cylinder. (Without CONSULT: Start engine. Check to ensure idle speed momentarily decreases when each injector connector is removed from cylinder.)

Check spark plugs. Stop engine. Remove spark plugs and check for contaminants or damage. Also check spark gaps.
