INSPECTION START

CHECK EXHAUST GAS SENSOR CIRCUIT. 1) Start engine and warm it up sufficiently. 2) Perform "MIXTURE RATIO TEST" in "FUNCTION TEST" mode with CONSULT. OR 2) Make sure that "M/R F/C MNT" in "DATA MONITOR" mode indicates "RICH" and "LEAN" periodically more than 5 times during 10 seconds at 2,000 rpm. OR 1) Start engine and warm it up sufficiently. 2) Run engine at about 2,000 rpm for about 2 minutes under no-load. 3) Set E.C.U. diagnosis mode to Mode II. 4) Keep engine speed at 2,000 rpm and make sure that the RED L.E.D. on E.C.U. goes on and off more than 5 times during 10 seconds.

CHECK POWER SUPPLY. 1) Stop engine. 2) Disconnect exhaust gas sensor harness connector. 3) Turn ignition switch "ON". 4) Check voltage between exhaust gas sensor terminal (c) and ground. Voltage: Battery voltage

Check the following. - Harness connectors (F22), (M18) - 10A fuse - Harness continuity between exhaust gas sensor and fuse. If N.G., repair harness or connectors.
Check the following. - Harness connectors (F22), (M18) - 10A fuse - Harness continuity between exhaust gas sensor and fuse. If N.G., repair harness or connectors.

CHECK OUTPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT. 1) Turn ignition switch "OFF". 2) Disconnect E.C.U. harness connector. 3) Check harness continuity between exhaust gas sensor terminal (a) and E.C.U. terminal (105). Continuity should exist.
