Check START signal. Initiate "STARTER SIGNAL" with "FUNCTION TEST" showing on display or proceed as follows: Check starter signal with "DATA MONITOR" showing on display. Starter signal: OFF (ignition switch turned to "ON"); ON (ignition switch turned to "START"). (Without CONSULT: Turn ignition switch to "START". Measure voltage between E.C.U. harness connector terminal 34 and GND. Power voltage: Ignition switch turned to "START". Approx. 0 volts: Ignition switch turned to any other position.)

Check A.A.C. valve. Check to ensure engine starts when accelerator pedal is depressed to the floor.
