CHECK IGNITION TIMING: Warm-up engine sufficiently and check ignition timing at idle using timing light. Ignition timing: 15° ± 2° B.T.D.C.
N.G.
Adjust ignition timing by turning crank angle sensor.
O.K.

CHECK THROTTLE SENSOR IDLE POSITION. • Select "FUNCTION TEST" from the "SELECT DIAG MODE" menu • Select "SINGLE TEST" then "THROTTLE SENSOR CKT" from the "TEST ITEM MENU" • Follow instructions displayed on the CONSULT screen: With ignition switched "ON" and engine running depress accelerator fully and press "START". • The throttle sensor voltages monitored will be displayed. The range of throttle output voltage between open and closed positions should be greater than 3V. • Perform "THROTTLE SEN ADJ" in "WORK SUPPORT" mode. • Check that the output voltage of the throttle sensor is about 0.5 V (Throttle valve fully closed) and about 4 V (Throttle valve fully open). — OR — • Measure output voltage of throttle sensor using voltmeter, and check that it is approximately 0.5V. (Throttle valve fully closed), and 4V (Throttle valve fully open).
N.G.
1. Adjust output voltage by rotating throttle sensor body. 2. Disconnect throttle sensor harness connector for a few seconds and then reconnect it. 3. Confirm that "IDLE POSITION" stays "ON".
