BEFORE STARTING: 1. Check service records for any recent repairs that may indicate a related problem, or the current need for scheduled maintenance. 2. Open engine hood and check the following: • Harness connectors for proper connections • Vacuum hoses for splits, kinks, and proper connections • Wiring for proper connections, pinches, and cuts

CONNECT CONSULT TO THE VEHICLE: Connect "CONSULT" to the diagnostic connector and select "ENGINE" from the menu. Switch ignition to "ON".

DOES ENGINE START?
No
Go to 6
Yes

CHECK IDLE ADJ. SCREW. INITIAL SET RPM. 1. Select "A.A.C. VALVE" in "WORK SUPPORT" mode. 2. Press "START" and check if engine drops to idle speed (in "N" position). — OR — Disconnect throttle sensor harness connector and check if engine rpm falls to idle speed (in "N" position). Vehicle idle speeds — M/T: 600 ± 50 rpm / N-CVT: 700 ± 50 rpm / M/T + L.S.D.: 600 ± 50 rpm / M/T (for North Europe): 600 ± 50 rpm / M/T + L.S.D. (for North Europe): 600 ± 50 rpm
