EF & EC-7074prose procedureMain Power Supply and Ground Circuit (Cont'd)
CG10, CGA3
Step 7 — CHECK HARNESS CONTINUITY BETWEEN ECM RELAY AND ECM
- 1Disconnect ECM harness connector.
- 2Disconnect ECM relay. (See NEF149A for location)
- 3Check harness continuity between ECM terminal 54 and relay terminal 5. Refer to wiring diagram. Continuity should exist.
- 4Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.
- 5OK or NG: - OK → GO TO 9. - NG → GO TO 8.
Step 8 — DETECT MALFUNCTIONING PART
- 1Check the following: - Harness connectors F32, E67 - Harness for open or short between ECM relay and ECM
- 2→ Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
Step 9 — CHECK VOLTAGE BETWEEN ECM RELAY AND GROUND
- 1Check voltage between relay terminals 1, 3 and ground with CONSULT-II or tester. (See SEF654Z)
- 2Voltage: Battery voltage.
- 3OK or NG: - OK → GO TO 11. - NG → GO TO 10.
Step 10 — DETECT MALFUNCTIONING PART
- 1Check the harness for open or short between ECM relay and fuse.
- 2→ Repair harness or connectors.
