INSPECTION START

CHECK POWER SUPPLY. 1) Disconnect ignition coil harness connector. 2) Turn ignition switch ON. 3) Check voltage between ignition coil terminal a and ground. Voltage: Battery voltage
NG
Check the following: Harness connectors F21, M17 (LHD models); Harness connectors F28, M23 (RHD models); Harness continuity between ignition coil and ignition switch; Condition and operation of ignition switch; Harness connectors M3, E1 (RHD models); Harness connectors M59, E55 (LHD models); 30A fusible link; Harness continuity between fusible link and ignition switch. If NG, replace fusible link or repair harness or connectors.
Check the following: Harness connectors F21, M17 (LHD models); Harness connectors F28, M23 (RHD models); Harness continuity between ignition coil and ignition switch; Condition and operation of ignition switch; Harness connectors M3, E1 (RHD models); Harness connectors M59, E55 (LHD models); 30A fusible link; Harness continuity between fusible link and ignition switch. If NG, replace fusible link or repair harness or connectors.

CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT. 1) Turn ignition switch OFF. 2) Disconnect resistor harness connector. 3) Disconnect power transistor harness connector. 4) Check harness continuity between ignition coil terminal b and resistor terminal c. Continuity should exist. 5) Check harness continuity between power transistor terminal f and engine ground. Continuity should exist.

Repair harness or connector.

CHECK INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT. 1) Disconnect ECM harness connector. 2) Check harness continuity between resistor terminal d and ECM terminal 3. Continuity should exist.

CHECK OUTPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT. 1) Check harness continuity between power transistor terminal e and ECM terminal 1. Continuity should exist.

Repair harness or connectors.
