Diagnostic Procedure 26 (ignition signal)

INSPECTION START

A — CHECK POWER SUPPLY. 1) Disconnect ignition coil harness connector. 2) Turn ignition switch "ON". 3) Check voltage between ignition coil terminal (a) and ground. Voltage: Battery voltage

Check the following. • Harness connectors (F21), (M17) • Harness continuity between ignition coil and ignition switch. If N.G., repair harness or connectors.

B — CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT. 1) Turn ignition switch "OFF". 2) Disconnect resistor harness connector. 3) Disconnect power transistor harness connector. 4) Check harness continuity between ignition coil terminal (b) and resistor terminal (c). Continuity should exist. 5) Check harness continuity between crank angle sensor terminal (f) and engine ground. Continuity should exist.

C — CHECK INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT. 1) Disconnect E.C.U. harness connector. 2) Check harness continuity between terminal resistor (d) and E.C.U. terminal 3. Continuity should exist.
