DTC Confirmation Procedure (Cont'd)

Select "MODE1".

Restart engine and let it idle for at least 5 minutes.

Drive vehicle in the following conditions at least 1 minute.

Repeat above procedure from step 2) through 4, then select "MODE7" with GST.

If the DTC is detected, go to "DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE", EC-7190. If DTC is not detected, go to next step.

Select "MODE1".

Verify that "CATALYST" is "CMPLT". If not "CMPLT", retry from the step 2).

ENG SPEED

ValueM/T: 1.0L 2,200 - 3,500 rpm; 1.3L 1,900 - 3,100 rpm; CVT: 1.0L 1,800 - 2,900 rpm; 1.3L 1,600 - 2,500 rpm

VEHICLE SPEED

Value70km/h - 100km/h

GEAR POSITION

ValueM/T: 5th; CVT: "D" position

1. CHECK EXHAUST SYSTEM: Visually check exhaust tubes and muffler for dent.

OK or NG

Repair or replace.

OK (GO TO 2)

2. CHECK EXHAUST AIR LEAK: 1. Start engine and run it at idle. 2. Listen for an exhaust air leak before the three way catalyst.

OK or NG

same as step 2

OK (GO TO 3)

3. CHECK INTAKE AIR LEAK: Listen for an intake air leak after the mass air flow sensor.

OK or NG

Repair or replace.
