Component Description

The ECM consists of a microcomputer, random access memory (RAM), read only memory (ROM) ... etc., and connectors for signal input and output and for power supply. The ECM controls the engine.

DTC Confirmation Procedure

NOTE

If "DTC Confirmation Procedure" has been previously conducted, always turn ignition switch "OFF" and wait at least 1 second before conducting the next test.

With CONSULT-II

Turn ignition switch "ON".

Select "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT-II.

Start engine.

Run engine for at least 10 seconds at idle speed.

If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to "Diagnostic Procedure", EC-7209.

With GST

1
Turn ignition switch "ON".

Start engine.
3
Run engine for at least 10 seconds at idle speed.
4
Select "Mode 7" with GST.
5
If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to "Diagnostic Procedure", EC-7209.
