Power Steering Oil Pressure Switch diagnostic

INSPECTION START

A: CHECK CONTROL FUNCTION. 1) Start engine. 2) Perform "PW/ST SIGNAL CIRCUIT" in "FUNCTION TEST" mode with CONSULT. OR 2) Check power steering oil pressure switch signal in "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT. Steering is neutral: OFF. Steering is turned: ON. OR 2) Check voltage between E.C.U. terminal (43) and ground. Voltage: When steering wheel is turned quickly: Approximately 0V. Except above: Approximately 5V.

B: CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT. 1) Stop engine. 2) Disconnect power steering oil pressure switch harness connector. 3) Check harness continuity between power steering oil pressure switch connector terminal (a) and body ground. Continuity should exist.

Repair harness or connectors.

C: CHECK INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT. 1) Disconnect E.C.U. harness connector. 2) Check harness continuity between E.C.U. terminal (43) and power steering oil pressure switch connector terminal (b). Continuity should exist.

Check the following. - Harness connectors F21, M17 - Harness connectors M59, E55 (R.H.D. models) - Harness continuity between E.C.U. and power steering oil pressure switch. If N.G., repair harness or connectors.
Check the following. - Harness connectors F21, M17 - Harness connectors M59, E55 (R.H.D. models) - Harness continuity between E.C.U. and power steering oil pressure switch. If N.G., repair harness or connectors.
