ACTIVE TEST MODE
Active Test Mode
FUEL INJECTION
CONDITION- Engine: Return to the original trouble condition
- Change the amount of fuel injection using CONSULT-II.
JUDGEMENTIf trouble symptom disappears, see CHECK ITEM.
CHECK ITEM (REMEDY)- Harness and connector
- Fuel injectors
- Heated oxygen sensor 1 (front)
IACV-AAC/V OPENING
CONDITION- Engine: After warming up, idle the engine.
- Change the IACV-AAC valve opening steps using CONSULT-II.
JUDGEMENTEngine speed changes according to the opening steps.
CHECK ITEM (REMEDY)- Harness and connector
- IACV-AAC valve
ENG COOLANT TEMP
CONDITION- Engine: Return to the original trouble condition
- Change the engine coolant temperature indication using CONSULT-II.
JUDGEMENTIf trouble symptom disappears, see CHECK ITEM.
CHECK ITEM (REMEDY)- Harness and connector
- Engine coolant temperature sensor
- Fuel injectors
IGNITION TIMING
CONDITION- Engine: Return to the original trouble condition
- Timing light: Set
- Retard the ignition timing using CONSULT-II.
JUDGEMENTIf trouble symptom disappears, see CHECK ITEM.
CHECK ITEM (REMEDY)- Camshaft position sensor (PHASE)
- Crankshaft position sensor (POS)
- Engine component parts and installing conditions
POWER BALANCE
CONDITION- Engine: After warming up, idle the engine.
- Air conditioner switch "OFF"
- Shift lever "N"
- Cut off each injector signal one at a time using CONSULT-II.
JUDGEMENTEngine runs rough or dies.
CHECK ITEM (REMEDY)- Harness and connector
- Compression
- Injectors
- Power transistor
- Spark plugs
- Ignition coils
COOLING FAN
CONDITION- Ignition switch: ON
- Turn the cooling fan "ON" and "OFF" using CONSULT-II.
JUDGEMENTCooling fan moves and stops.
CHECK ITEM (REMEDY)- Harness and connector
- Cooling fan motor
FUEL PUMP RELAY
CONDITION- Ignition switch: ON (Engine stopped)
- Turn the fuel pump relay "ON" and "OFF" using CONSULT-II and listen to operating sound.
JUDGEMENTFuel pump relay makes the operating sound.
CHECK ITEM (REMEDY)- Harness and connector
- Fuel pump relay
PURG VOL CONT/V
CONDITION- Engine: After warming up, idle the engine.
- Change the EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve opening percent using CONSULT-II.
JUDGEMENTEngine speed changes according to the opening percent.

- EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve

REAL TIME DIAGNOSIS IN DATA MONITOR MODE (RECORDING VEHICLE DATA)
CONSULT-II has two kinds of triggers and they can be selected by touching "SETTING" in "DATA MONITOR" mode.
1) "AUTO TRIG" (Automatic trigger):
- The malfunction will be identified on the CONSULT-II screen in real time. In other words, DTC/1st trip DTC and malfunction item will be displayed at the moment the malfunction is detected by ECM.
