Diagnostic Procedure (Cont'd)

Step 4 — CHECK ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

  1. 1
    Refer to "Component Inspection", EC-7099.
  2. 2
OK or NG: - OK → GO TO 5. - NG → Replace engine coolant temperature sensor.

Step 5 — CHECK THERMOSTAT OPERATION

  1. 1
When the engine is cooled [lower than 82 (179), for cold area 88°C (180°F)], condition grasp lower radiator hose and confirm the engine collant does not flow.
  2. 2
OK or NG: - OK → GO TO 6. - NG → Repair or replace engine thermostat. Refer to LC-section, "Thermostat".
