- 11Remove camshaft position sensor (PHASE).Do not allow any magnetic materials to contzact the camshaft position sensor (PHASE).Be careful not to damage sensor.
NEM363 - 12Remove cam sprocket cover.
- 13Remove thermostat housing.
UEM046 - 14Remove chain tensioner.
UEM047 - 15Loosen idler sprocket bolt.
- 16Remove camshaft sprocket bolts.
- 17Remove camshaft sprockets.
- 18Remove camshaft brackets and camshafsts.These parts should be reassembled in their original positions.Bolts should be loosened in two or three steps.Loosen in numerical order.
NEM367 - 19Remove idler sprocket bolt.
- 20Remove cylinder head with manifolds.Head warpage or cracking could result from removing bolts in incorrect order.Cylinder head bolts should be loosened in two or three steps.Loosen in numerical order.
SEM115D - 21Remove upper timing chain.
