    Remove camshaft position sensor (PHASE).
    Do not allow any magnetic materials to contzact the camshaft position sensor (PHASE).
    Be careful not to damage sensor.

    Remove cam sprocket cover.

    Remove thermostat housing.
    Thermostat housing on the engine with arrows pointing at the mounting bolts to be removed.

    Remove chain tensioner.

    Loosen idler sprocket bolt.

    Remove camshaft sprocket bolts.

    Remove camshaft sprockets.
  8. 18
    Remove camshaft brackets and camshafsts.
    These parts should be reassembled in their original positions.
    Bolts should be loosened in two or three steps.
    Loosen in numerical order.

    Remove idler sprocket bolt.

    Remove cylinder head with manifolds.
    Head warpage or cracking could result from removing bolts in incorrect order.
    Cylinder head bolts should be loosened in two or three steps.
    Loosen in numerical order.
