REMOVAL

Exhaust manifold & catalyser removal

  1. 1
    Remove heat shields.
  2. 2
    Disconnect exhaust front pipe.
  3. 3
    Remove catalyser and seal.

  4. 4
    Remove exhaust gas sensor.
  5. 5
    Remove manifold.

INSPECTION

Exhaust manifold inspection

  1. 1
Check all components for wear, damage, etc.
Do not attempt to disassemble the catalyser honeycomb.
  2. 2
Check flatness of manifold face using straightedge. Maximum variation: 0.3 mm (0.012 in).
Straightedge laid across the cylinder-head mating face of the exhaust manifold to check for flatness/warpage.

Assembly

Exhaust manifold & catalyser assembly

  1. 1
Fit manifold. Tighten nuts as shown.

  2. 2
    Fit exhaust gas sensor.
  3. 3
    Fit catalyser, using new seal.
  4. 4
Fit exhaust pipe and heat shields.
