    Apply liquid gasket to thermostat housing.
    Ensure mating surfaces are clean and free from dirt, grease and traces of old liquid gasket.

    Install thermostat housing.

    Install distributor.
    Make sure that position of camshaft is as shown in figure.
    Distributor mounting bore on cylinder head with the camshaft drive slot visible. Photograph shows the orientation of the camshaft drive slot at the moment the distributor must be fitted.

    Apply liquid gasket to cam sprocket cover as illustrated. Then install cam sprocket cover.
    Cam-sprocket cover mating face: liquid-gasket bead path running just inside the bolt circle. 'Liquid gasket' label at top, bead width callout '2.0 - 3.0 mm (0.079 - 0.118 in)' below.

    Clean the rocker cover, ensure it is free from grease.
    Fit the gasket & cover within 5 minutes of applying the liquid gasket, as follows:

    Apply liquid gasket to the cylinder head as shown. Fit the gasket to the cover.
