Removal

  1. 1
    Drain engine coolant from radiator and cylinder block.
    Be careful not to spill coolant on drive belts.

    Remove the alternator and power steering drive belts.

    Remove air cleaner.
  4. 4
    Remove front right-side wheel.
  5. 5
    Remove front and right-side splashguards.
  6. 6
    Remove front exhaust tube.
  7. 7
    Remove ignition coils.
    Loosen in numerical order (1 through 6).

    Remove rocker cover.
  9. 9
    Remove all spark plugs.
  10. 10
    Set No. 1 piston at T.D.C. on compression stroke.
    Crankshaft pulley with timing marks. Pointer at top with marks labelled TDC, 5°, 10°, 15°, 20°. Used to set No. 1 piston at TDC on compression stroke.
