Camshaft oil seal — Installation (continued)

    Apply engine oil to new oil seal and install oil seal using a suitable tool.
    Hand using a tubular driver to seat a new camshaft oil seal onto the front of the cylinder head — illustrates camshaft-oil-seal step 3.

CRANKSHAFT FRONT OIL SEAL

Crankshaft front oil seal replacement

  1. 1
    Remove timing belt, crankshaft sprocket and spacer.
  2. 2
    Remove oil seal with a suitable tool.
    Hand using a screwdriver-style puller to pry the crankshaft front oil seal from the timing-cover housing — illustrates crankshaft-front-oil-seal step 2.

    Apply engine oil to new oil seal and install oil seal using a suitable tool.
    Hand using a tubular driver to seat a new crankshaft front oil seal onto the crankshaft — illustrates crankshaft-front-oil-seal step 3.

CRANKSHAFT REAR OIL SEAL

Crankshaft rear oil seal replacement

  1. 1
    Remove transaxle assembly. (Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION" in MT section.)

    Remove flywheel.
  3. 3
    Remove rear oil seal with a suitable tool.
    Hand using a screwdriver-style puller to extract the crankshaft rear oil seal from the rear-seal housing — illustrates crankshaft-rear-oil-seal step 3.

    Apply engine oil to new oil seal and install oil seal using a suitable tool.
