VALVE OIL SEAL

Valve oil seal replacement

    Remove cylinder head. Refer to "Timing chain" procedure.
    Hand using a tool to extract the valve oil seal from a valve guide on the cylinder head.

    Remove valve oil seal.
  3. 3
    Apply engine oil to new valve oil seal and install it with Tool. Do not re-use valve oil seals.
    Do not re-use valve oil seals.
    Special tool KV10115600 (oil seal drift) being used by hand to drive a new valve oil seal onto the valve guide of the cylinder head.

    Ensure seal is located correctly as shown. Seating height 10.5 mm (0.413 in) above cylinder head top.

FRONT OIL SEAL

Front oil seal removal

  1. 1
    Remove front cover. Refer to "Removal" in "TIMING CHAIN".
  2. 2
    Remove front oil seal from front cover.
    Be careful not to damage oil seal retainer.
    Hand holding a tool to lever the front oil seal out of the front cover (timing cover) of the engine.
