    Install the connecting rod bearing cap and tighten to the specified torque.

    Install the dial indicator on the dial support.
    Cylinder block with a dial-indicator support SST KV109B0060 spanning across the block deck above the No. 4 cylinder, with the calibration piston SST KV109B0050 installed in the bore. Indicator centred over the calibration-piston crown — illustrates Inspection steps 6-8 (install dial indicator, place above calibration piston, zero out at TDC).

    Place the indicator/support above the center of calibration piston.

    Turn the crankshaft to TDC, and zero out the dial indicator.

    Move the indicator/support onto the deck.

    Take a precise reading of the difference in level between calibration piston and the deck.

    Follow the same procedure for the other cylinders, using the corresponding connecting rods.
