    Assemble the tensioner by rotating and pushing the ratchet up the spiral until it stops. The tensioner is now pre-set. Chain lash will automatically set the tensioner when the engine is started. Install the tensioner.
    Check no problems occur when engine is rotated.
    Make sure that No. 1 piston is set at T.D.C. on its compression stroke.

    Apply liquid gasket to cam sprocket cover as illustrated then install cam sprocket cover.
    Bead width 2.0 - 3.0 mm (0.079 - 0.118 in).
    Cam sprocket cover with liquid gasket bead applied around its mating surface. Callout: 'Liquid gasket'. Annotation: bead width 2.0 - 3.0 mm (0.079 - 0.118 in).

    Clean the rocker cover, ensure it is free from grease.
    Fit the gasket & cover within 5 minutes of applying the liquid gasket, as follows:
