CYLINDER HEAD — Removal / Disassembly / Inspection
EM-29prose procedureCAUTION
During reassembly, always apply new engine oil to bearing surfaces, e.g. camshaft, and oil seal contact surfaces. When tightening cylinder head bolts, camshaft sprocket bolts and camshaft bracket bolts, apply new engine oil to threads and seat surfaces of bolts. Identify individual components such as valve lifters, to ensure correct assembly.
Removal
Refer to "TIMING CHAIN" section for cylinder head removal.
Disassembly
Cylinder head disassembly
- 1Remove valve components with Service Tool.
NEM053 - 2Remove valve oil seal.
