Removal

    Drain engine coolant from radiator and cylinder block. Be careful not to spill coolant on drive belts.

    Remove the alternator and power steering drive belts.

    Remove air cleaner.

    Remove front right-side wheel.

    Remove front and right-side splashguards.

    Remove front exhaust [tube/manifold].

    Remove rocker cover.
    Loosen rocker cover bolts in numerical order (see figure).

    Remove distributor cap.

    Remove all spark plugs.

    Set No. 1 piston at T.D.C. on compression stroke. • Make sure No. 1 cylinder is at T.D.C. by looking at distributor rotor position.
